I have a piece of linen with a bold pattern or people's faces and was thinking of making a princess style sundress. Would the seams for the princess style ruin the bold pattern on the fabric? I do not want to waste the fabric

That's a great question, it might depend on the scale of the print... if the faces are big then you are likely going to be cutting down the faces and disrupting the pattern. If the scale is on the smaller side it might not be so noticeable.
But perhaps you might want to consider a dress with less seemliness - either a front that is cut on the fold or perhaps a seam down the centre front if you want to try pattern matching.
