Pattern Suggestions To Showcase My Print

Hi sewing friends,

I created a screen print during a course and I'm looking for some simple patterns that I could sew up to make the print a feature.

I have two colourways, both 1.1m x 3m, one is cream cotton with navy print and the other is pink cotton with maroon print.

Pictured is a dress I made with the test print on an old tablecloth. I traced around a rtw so there wasn't a pattern.

Fabulous. I can't suggest a pattern because I don't sew that many dresses. This is beautiful!

I think that print looks as if it was made for that dress - a lovely creation - I would definitely use that.

I hope someone else will come along with another idea, because I want to suggest a kimono style jacket that I have mentioned in many posts!

Aren't you clever? My goodness, that's lovely. Is this the style of dress you want? (short length and sleeveless?).

I think this pattern looks lovely made up in a strong, regular pattern but it's not the same sort of style as you have shown here. https://thefoldline.com/products/madswick-camille-chemise.

I look forward to seeing the eventual makes!

I like the pattern you suggested, I'm also open to patterns for any style of garment that you think might make the print the focus rather than cutting it up

I'm open to patterns for pants, tops, overalls, jackets, whatever garment you think might help show off my print.

I've added photos of the two colourways I mentioned above, there is 3m of each.

Wow these are incredible!! My goodness the door is wide open for pattern suggestions! What sort of drape does the cotton have? Is it quite floaty like a lawn or does it have a bit more structure?

For me your print is giving art deco vibes - I'd want to make a flapper dress if it was mine (I can never think outside of my historial box!).

The theme for the assessment was art deco so I'm glad you see it ๐Ÿ˜Š do you have any suggestions for a flapper dress pattern?

Oh well if that was the theme then you nailed it!

Patterns wise there's Simplicity S9088 and Butterick B6399, although I've not tried either (yet). Basic flappers seem to be a simple sleevless dress, with no shape except for a waist line at the hip.

I was looking at my "forgotten" patterns and what other sewists have made with them and I found an Adeline dress from Style Arc :
I saw this realization https://www.instagram.com/p/DR_UDNdE6iv/ and it reminds me of your post.
