Advice please, which fabric should I use…?

Hello

I have a charity ball to go to in March. I'm not a dress person so would like to make a jump suit in a floaty enough fabric to look dress like from a distance.
I have the pattern for the Nina Lee Kewbello Jumpsuit thefoldline.com/products/nina-lee-kewbello-jumpsuit

The fabric suggestions are rayon, viscose, crepe etc. when I look for viscose those there are a million different types of viscose.
Could anyone tell me what type of viscose I need to get to make it quite fancy, with lots of drape so the trousers could like a dress skirt?

I have plenty of time so if it'll be a tricky fabric (which I imagine it will be) that's fine as I can practice.

ooooh.... *rubs hands together in glee*

I would opt if you're up for it trying something like a viscose satin - Fabric Godmother have some beautiful plain coloured ones called Bardot which are amazing

Lamazi have this beautiful jacquards - lamazifabrics.com/search?q=cupro+blend+jacquard

Don't choose anything with polyester in it - you'll be so uncomfortable!

Would a Viscose Challis work in the same way. I'm not sure on the shiny satin. Going to a ball is quite a step out of my confirm zone 😬.

Challis is incredibly lightweight and floaty, it would work beautifully but if you want something that has drape but with a little bit of weight then anything that just says Viscose or viscose poplin would work great. Viscose crepe is another great option too.
if you see something you like feel free to send a link and we will take a look

Okay so I have been window shopping, I quite like the idea of a viscose sateen as that has a bit of shine but not shiny and i've also found a bamboo poplin that also looks quite nice.

The boys will be in black so i'd like to not be in plain black. My current shortlist is;

I think the minerva one is my favourite but i'm not sure if the pattern would be too much?...

Although this one does look amazing even though it is shiny:

The parents like this one so, I'd better get cracking on working out trousers now

All of these options are great, the only one I've never worked with is the bamboo poplin so I couldn't give any recommendations on that!
They are all lovely, I have a YouTube video on working with satin which used the fabric godmother one.
