Are the social groups for newbies and how many people usually attend please?

Hi Jo - lovely to 'meet' you here!
The socials are for all abilities and all activities. Some join with their cameras on and some with them off.
Everyone has a chance to 'check-in' if they want to - but no pressure.
People join when they have lost their sew-jo and just want to take part in the conversation and sometimes then find themselves beginning to think about their own sewing projects again...
Some people bring their knitting, or their quilting, or embroidery projects.....
Some people bring questions - others help with possible answers.
Everyone is kind and welcoming and supportive.
I think the smallest group I've seen had 5 attendees, and the largest had 27. Once we edge towards 20 attendees we usually break out into smaller 'rooms' of 5-6 so conversation remains possible for everyone.
In my experience everyone is genuinely interested in what everyone else is doing.
