Scissors. Mostly because my rotary cutting mat is much smaller than my cutting table. I'd have to most and readjust a lot to use it.

When I do redo the cutting table I may cover it with a rotary cutting mat.

I am the same, I don’t have a cutting mat big enough for most of my pattern pieces! I think I’ll always be team scissors

I use scissors for dressmaking but I do use a rotary cutter for quilting or bag making. Despite years of using a rotary cutter I still find cutting curves or intricate bits a bit awkward. I have a large cutting mat but it is still too small for a lot of pattern pieces so scissors for me.

I prefer scissors for dressmaking, but I use a rotary cutter for patchwork/quilting. I find my cutting is more accurate with scissors.

Yes, I agree I'm much more accurate with scissors. But for lots of square/rectangle pieces a rotary cutter can be great

Scissors for me . I inherited my grandmothers orange handled fiskars when I was a teenager and have used fiskars ever since. I love them. I have a 25cm one for cutting orders and a 21cm that I use for dressmaking .I have tried using a rotary cutter but I am just too awkward and can’t get the knack.

I agree, Fiskars are the best scissors. I've tried others and always find them too heavy

I love scissors and am getting much better at a rotary cutter…but will always use scissors…what in the world are electric scissors 🤔 I suppose it is self explanatory…but don’t you lose control and cut where no cutting should be… maybe I just look away too often 🤭

Hah, yes you do have to have full concentration. They have lots of different brands on amazon. You turn them on and the blades open and close rapidly - great for if you have mobility issues in your hand that make using scissors difficult. But you have to have a lot of control

I have some and they are great for thick fabrics but you really have to concentrate and have lots of control. I'm hoping it will get easier with practice

Would you recommend the brand you use? If so, what is the brand?
