Possible Guardian Feature On Ai Patterns

I have been chatting with a journalist at The Guardian who might be interested in doing a story around the AI patterns you can get at Etsy after I shared with her my video.

She wants the story to centre around the people who sew who have been caught out by these AI patterns and has asked me for some contacts as well as pattern designer contacts.

I've got the pattern designers sorted but I need some people who sew and have been caught out that might be willing to be featured. If this is you or you know anyone please let me know!

Great news! I really hope this goes ahead. I've never used an AI pattern and probably never will, but I think an article about their shortcomings, and any strengths if they have any, would be a genuine public service.

Thank you, I hope so too - they are flooding places like Etsy unfortunately

I took hope this goes ahead. When I was young, even if (shockingly) your mum or nan didn't sew, there were loads of folk around who did. Most places had a shop where you could find patterns and fabric (admittedly limited) but there was a lot of knowledge and experience to tap in to

Now newbies will look online, and may not find it easy to know the wheat from the chaff

I think there will be few who come forward to say how these AI patterns have let them down. Sadly they have probably drifted off.

Most of us experienced sewers would see the problem immediately. And I rather think most of us head to known websites for our patterns, not Etsy.
