I have made two versions of this dress previously so all pattern adaptions have already been made. I raised the front neckline as that was a bit too low for me and altered the shoulders to fit my forward shoulders

The fabric is a slithery viscose bought for this dress two years ago and never made up so this time I went for it to get it out of the way.

I got up early this morning to cut this out before it got too hot. I had 4m of 54" fabric (excuse the mixed units of measurement I grew up using both and inter change them often!!)I only just managed to get the sleeveless version out of it. I didn't have enough for the collar. I did cut out the bodice twice as I fully line it rather than messing with facings. I'm also hoping the poppies behave themselves in the chest area.

It's now too hot to do more (my sewing room is in the attic!) so I think this will be a slow sew.

As a big fan of poppies, I looove your fabric. Eager to see the dress. Take care of you during the heat.

This is a lovely looking pattern Glenda - can't believe how much fabric it takes!! Is this the Poppy dress you were working on this morning?

Yes, I've got all the markings transferred now and just need to set up my machines and I can start sewing.

Oh my gosh Glenda! How's it going? This is so similar to the style arc Belle which I am an massive fan of!! It looks incredible on every body I've seen!

I finished it on Friday but was too hot to post a photo!! I took a photo this morning and have worn the dress all day. It has been super cool and comfortable and I was complimented on it. I'll put the details in my sewing room tomorrow.

I made the alterations the first time I made the dress a couple of years ago. I raised the neckline (no one wants to see that much of my cleavage- it would scare the horses!) Also lowered the underbust seam as the girls aren't as perky as they were. I did a forward shoulder adjustment as well. Think that was all!
