An extra step here is to edge stitch the front pocket bag to help keep it facing towards the front.

Little extra step that I like to do here is edge stitch along the pocket piece. To do that, I'm going to use an edge stitch foot which has a little guide.

You don't have to use an edge stitch foot, you can use your regular sewing machine foot and just stitch a couple of millimeters on top of the pocket piece, catching the pocket piece onto the side seam.

It's best to do this only on the front pocket piece because that will help to stop the pocket bag from rolling out and keep it anchored towards the front of your garment.
