Hello! I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I've been sewing for about a year or so and have been making mostly dresses for myself. I have a 100% cotton heavy sweatshirt fabric that I'm making a dress out of. Because of the stretch, I'm using a zigzag stitch. However, no matter how narrow I make the stitch, it always shows on the right side of the fabric on the seam. I tried a straight stitch and it did the same thing. Any tips for resolving this? I've attached a few pictures with a narrow stitch to show the behavior. Thank you so much!

I'm working on an Itch To Stitch Comillas dress using the lovely cotton lawn from the January 2025 luxury box.  I'm not sure why I chose this pattern, I really like the style but gathering is one of the sewing processes I don't enjoy 🙄

Ooh that's such a pretty dress, gathering is a job that's best done with entertainment!

I just adore a matching set!! These turned out lovely. Very lounge worthy, wear out and about, throw a cardigan on and your dressed up! Very beautiful.

Thank you Monique! I would highly recommend the pattern, very easy to follow. I also really like the look of the wide leg version!

I have had my first experience of using one of these patterns which I really enjoyed working with.  The slightly different techniques regarding notches worked well. A snip in a seam allowance on the sleeve gave me a very accurate finish. I will definitely use anothernof their patterns.
