Hi all. I'm Tina I'm English but lucky enough to live in beautiful Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
I dabbled a bit with sewing for years, but was always frustrated with poor fit. I then lost weight and was pleased to be able to buy ready to wear clothes until I discovered how poorly they fitted!

So about 18 months ago I decided to try to learn to sew 'properly'. I quickly became obsessed, and am now on a mission to have a completely me-made wardrobe.

The turning point for me was making a Fabric Godmother Peony dress. I decided wrongly or rightly that if I could manage that, complete with invisible zip, I could make anything I set my mind to.
I document my makes on instagram with the same username that I have here.
I absolutely love SHJ boxes; it's a proper treat every month.

Hi Tina, that's amazing that you've started sewing 18 months ago - and absolutely you can make anything you set your mind to!

Hello everyone!

I am Susanne and I am living in the Netherlands with my husband and two daughters (3 and 6 yr) who's hands are faster than the speed of light to grab the sweet treat as soon as I open the monthly box.

Looking forward being inspired from all the makes of you fellow sewists. And also hopefully get to know some Dutch-Sew-Hayley-Jane-Subcribers for possible future fabric swaps :)

Congrats and thanks Hayley for the hard work creating this space!

My daughter is here until 5th January, relieving me of puppy duties ( he is living with us temporarily and rather unexpectedly). My aim is to sew as much as I possibly can from Saturday until then.

Hoping to start with a Nepheline blouse.

My daughter gave me this thread holder as I was forever digging around in my sewing box for a spool. Took me ages to hammer in the dowels though! So this afternoon I shall be loading it and at long last having tidy threads!

Haley, I also love my French Curve ruler it is so awesome and helpful. I also love my wonder clips! They are so helpful and easy to pop on and off.

I'm looking into buying my first Overlocker possibly Coverstitch. I'm wondering which one is the most preferred and why?

Also which company is best to buy from and why, I mostly work on clothing...so I'd like one of these machines, just wondering which one I'd get the most use out of. Thanks for your input and help.

I'm seeeeew excited to be a part of this community. Thank you Haley for coming up with this idea.

My family and friends know me too well. New fabric pinking shears and rotary cutter with fabric only tags. The Fleur pattern from Fabric Godmother. Gutterman threads and vouchers. Really happy.
