Is anyone going to the stitch festival?   I'm heading there on Friday - and have made a top to which my daughter announced "why are you dressed like a peacock?"
it's not put me off wearing it - so if you see a pink peacock there please say hi.

I don't know. I've made a few bit (garments) but never wear them as when I've done previously I've had a few negative comments so think it's confidence.

I'm really sorry you've had some negative comments - that's obviously going to knock your confidence, but I hope you can rise above it and get back to sewing, which should bring you joy. Hayley has some great advice

Its funny as I had the cami material for some time not sure where it came from loved t he colours but just could not imagine what I could make that I would be able to wear as I am normal very much a plain Jane when it comes to clothes . The trousers sewn up beautifully your material was such a pleasure to sew and I wanted to match them with a top and the print material went perfect.

Here is the Size Me Serene Jumpsuit pattern that I've just finished making, using my material from the luxury March box. Love it! So comfortable and the best bit is it unwraps so you can go to the loo without having to take it off! Material is perfect for it too!

Oh no Catherine I'm so sorry you had that happen, that's really upsetting. Sometimes as a beginner to sewing garments it takes some trial and error to figure out what styles we like and that suit us as well as the right fabrics to use. I would recommend sewing a pair of pyjama bottoms like the Tilly and the Buttons Jamie PJs - you get to practice your sewing, there's not much to worry about in terms of fitting and you can wear them with pride without fear of negative comments.

Obviously I want to say - wear whatever you want with pride and ignore the haters - but I know that is a lot easier said than done!

Secondly I'd perhaps try a sweatshirt - again Tilly and the Buttons are great for beginners and the Drew or Billie are great patterns to try with a sweatshirting fabric in a colour you know you love - the fabric is easy to work with and the patterns are fairly simple
