Hi everyone!

I'm Lucie, and I live in Finland. I'm really happy to be part of this community and to be able to discuss sewing!

I like sewing by machine and by hand, I also do some knitting and embroidery, when I have some time left!

Hi !

I'm new on this forum, and I'm happy to discuss with fellow sewers!

I'm trying to sew elasticated waist trousers for the first time, and I have a problem with the length of the waistband, which is quite longer than the waist width of the trousers.

I've checked the pattern, the sizes of the waistband and the trousers are the same, but I've watched sew-alongs and the waistband seems to fit on the videos (but not on my trousers!). There is nothing specific to this problem in the instructions of the pattern.

I suspect I'm missing something important...😁 Has anyone meet the same problem ?

I thought it might be helpful to share my pegboard storage set up.  it was a whole new world for me, but I am really happy with progress so far.  just a couple of extra bits to get and maybe shuffle things a bit.

The pegboard and most of the accessories are from Ikea - Skadis range.   I decided not to buy a combination and so bought the peg boards (56x56 & 76x56), hooks, containers, shelves, clips from Ikea separately.

The thread storage is from Amazon - "Thread Storage for Skadis system".

Hope this helps.

Love this thread, thank you! I was very lucky and managed to get a board and several storage bits (clips, hooks, long trays, short boxes) on our local free cycle page!

Got it up byt haven't yet had chance to play around with the set up to work out what is the best way to have it all.

Are you printing from a laptop/pc?
if printing from your phone, there isn't normally a scale option so its normally off by a few.

auto i found selected auto select for the portrait/landscape setting also helps.

the 100% would be from the software you are using to print not the actual computer.

I instantly knew what I wanted to make with the latest fabric from the luxury box, an Emporia patterns Penelope dress. I've made this several times before so it's a quick make for me, even accounting for that frill! I wore this on my trip to the Stitch Festival in London; seersucker travels so well I didn't need to iron it, always a bonus!
