Hi Pauline, that does sound expensive!  I use Patternsy to get my A0 patterns printed, they charge £2.00 for each A0 sheet and will also print only the sizes you require if your PDF pattern has layers and you request it in the notes.  If you open the A0 PDF you may find that there are also different sheets for different cup sizes so if you can specify which cup sizes you require that may reduce the number of A0 sheets that need printing as well.  Here's a link Patternsy

Thank you so much !! 😁 It does make sense, as I was doing a muslin, I just wanted to check the fit and I did not do the pockets ! Thanks to you, now I understand !

I'm going to try again, with the pockets !

I'm new to downloading AO patterns and I was very excited to get the Itch to Stitch Vikos Dress sewing pattern.

I think I need 26 pages at A4, and 7 pages at AO.

I just rang my local print shop and was quoted £15, including VAT, for each sheet of AO.

That would be £45 for the pattern pieces, which surely cannot be right?

Could someone tell me where I'm going wrong, please 🥺

Thanks, Pauline

Ah, that's super helpful! Where that slanted seam at the side of the trouser is - that's where you will sew a slash pocket. So the pocket piece will form the rest of the side seam of the trousers and should then match up with the waistband piece.

Sometimes it's all about trusting the process! There are often some head scratching moments in sewing but usually if you trust the process you get those Ah Ha moments when it all comes together!

Which pattern are you sewing?

Apologies if these are obvious questions but just to try and guage where we are at. How much extra is there? Is it a slightly curved waistband that might need easing in?

No problem, thank you so much for asking ! 😊 I'm sewing the Arden pants by Helen's closet. The extra fabric is essentially on the front part, the waistband is not curved, but maybe I should gather the pants fabric, or just cut the waistband.

There is 5,5 cm excess on the half front waistband, I'm joining a photo.

Have you looked at the Sewing Patterns by Masin Amalfi blouse? That has a very similar vibe but a lower neckline. it's on my list for this month

We will have the video tutorials up really soon to help with some of the more complex steps - the trickiest bit is sewing the lining to the main at the hem but I go step by step through those instructions in the videos

I have ordered the AO copy. I have not made anything this complexed before so it will be a nice push in the right direction. I need to start now to get it finished 😁
