April always feels like an exciting time for sewing - the longer days and promise of warmer weather can really get the inspiration and creative juices flowing. The socials have been full of plenty of blouse patterns the last few weeks, with members who are relatively new to sewing finding lots of support from others who are more experienced.

Let's get to know the fabulous people in our community
Sue_gingerninja_sews
Plus MemberA regular in our online sewing socials Sue is always busy stitching up beautiful garments - with a particular fondness for Sew Over It!
How did sewing come to be a part of your life?
My sister gave me her sewing machine when I moved to Liverpool but it just got buried in a cupboard until lockdown and I made a couple of masks. Then I attempted my first dress, m7405 and watched all the episodes of the Sewing Bee because I had never watched it.
Do you have a favourite type or print of fabric to work with?
Viscose as long as it’s over 110gsm weight wise
Tell us about a company whose patterns you love to sew?
Sew Over It - I joined their stitch school in the early days and loved how their patterns seemed to fit a lot better than the big four.
What's currently on your sewing table?
I’ve just finished another Drew Sweatshirt from Tilly and the Buttons
It’s a tried and true favourite. Quick and easy, great for colour blocking. However, I had the Fabric Obsession subscription box fabric and wanted to use the gold piping and sparkly rib.
What made you join ThreadySetGo and why do you love it?
I joined ThreadySetGo to meet and sew with other like minded people. The subscription price is exceptional value and a good prod to get off the sofa and into the sewing room, even on days when I have no enthusiasm to sew - it’s a good tonic..
The end of month party with the pattern designers is like having a live podcast in your sewing room too.
What would be your dream no-expense-spared sewing day?
Just a day spent sewing with my sister is enough for me but as it’s no expense spared we’ll have Jamie Oliver come cook for us and Patrick Grant can come cut out our projects!!
Hayley's Stash
My favourite patterns, fabrics and notions this month.
Victory Tank
I absolutely love this pattern - the wider straps make it bra friendly and the way it floats over the body is going to make it so comfortable to wear

Cohana Magnetic Hasami Ceramic Spool
The ceramic pin pots are so unique, they look like they belong in an artist studio! They are magnetic as well so if you're a bit haphazard like me they will stay in place!
Visit Beyond Measure
Floral Print Poplin
The newest design from Roo-tid is so pretty, the gentle colours but bold print make it perfect for a spring shirt dress

Wren Blouse
Perfect if you're wanting to sew a blouse for Spring - I love the scoop neckline and two sleeve options! Plus it makes a gorgeous dress too!

Kafka Sprigs Ribbon
There is a huge selection of prints in the Kafka ribbons range but this one is my favourite - I'd cut out a small section to create a label.
Visit Beyond Measure
Lucent - Floral Viscose Twill
This is such a sweet and gentle print - perfect for a spring blouse or top that ticks the cottage core trend I love!
