It's a great subject to discuss ! I've used ponte for a cardigan, and a dress would be nice I think, it's both comfortable and elegant. But too hot for summer time probably...
Ponte Roma is a great fabric for beginners who want to start sewing with jersey as it's super stable and easy to work with. But yes better for cooler weather

I made 10 pairs of the Tilly and the buttons iris pants and they are great. I made a toile first as I thought I wanted the low rise ones but ended up making the rest high leg. I used all my scrap jersey and even did a pair with a lace insert. Such an easy pattern to make as well. I pieced the pattern for the front and back so I could use different fabrics as it used more scraps of fabric.
