Hi Hayley & Everyone. I am Elaine and I live in Lancashire.I started to sew in lockdown and I am a total beginner as regards sewing. I do knit and crochet though too. As  I have mental health issues, re anxiety, lack of confidence etc this has been a big step for me to take and I am hoping it will give me another focus to keep my mind occupied and learn something new. I am very slow with my sewing but hopefully will pick up and learn lots from all you clever people. I am a box subscriber ,but only recently. I have to say I have not been dissapointed and I cant wait for my box to arrive when its due.  I do need to find some beginner friendly patterns in order for me to start using my lovely fabrics.

Buttons for me, the thought of it all going wrong and ruining my garment terrifies me. Will opt for zips or elastic every time. I am going to challenge myself to try them next year though having just bought the TATB Nell dress.

That's so interesting - I'll always opt for buttons over zips! The Nell dress is a good one to start as the buttons are only on the bodice. Practice a few times on a scrap of the fabric you're using before going for the real thing

This is my make nine for next year. I decided to make it all about upping my skills level.

I had completed this year's make nine by February and decided I would make it a bit more challenging this year 🤩

Funny you should ask as I literally came here to start a make nine thread. Mine is all about upping my skills level.

Love that you consider me a spring chicken Kay! I have just had a look at the line up. I recognise Kellie from Eastenders back in the day when I used to watch it, so about 30 years ago! How is that possible?

Charlotte is one of those reality tv stars that literally goes on every celebrity programme going, which is why I know who she is.

Everybody knows H.

The comidien I think I have seen on something else too 🤩
