What a great goal for the year! Have you found a pattern that works?

SewHayleyJane - 1 week ago

Sadly no. I will at some point take a photo and post it in my community groups for inspiration. It's a modern-vintage style coat which has a big flair 'skirt' (think a circle skirt coat) and a nice big hood.

I use a Janome 230DC and I love it, it does everything I need and isn't crazy expensive at around £400

Thank you for this info. It's very helpful

I'm using a Singer sewing machine which I have had for years. I am considering a change. I would be interested in what machines others use and recommendations. I notice Janome seems popular?

My name is Amanda and I'm a fabric and pattern hoarder 😂 Top of my list for this year is to sort my stash of fabrics that I have no idea what to do with, it's overwhelming and I just don't know where to start, I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more this year then a local sewing class shop that also sold fabric had an instagram live sale as they are no longer selling fabric so I've ended up with another random 6 pieces of fabric in various lengths which I've no plans for, massive fail but I can't resist a bargain! Glad to hear I'm not alone, I buy fabric and patterns with no clue what I'm going to do with them, I need some inspiration and direction, hopefully I'll pick up some tips and ideas on here.

Happy New Year!

It's my daughter's 4th birthday on Monday so I'm busy making her the Roslyn dress from Little Lizard King in a frozen brushed cotton. I'm hoping to have it finished by Saturday before her princess  party on Sunday 😬😬😬

Bodice is done, sleeves are in, just the skirt now.

This gilet pattern purely because it's the only pattern I've made two from. One faux fur and the other Boucle. Really speedy to sew up and lovely extra layer of warmth!

I've started making more bags recently so I want to learn how to put rivets in. Oh and I'd like to perfect a v-neck top, my v- necks always look messy

Nick - 2 weeks ago

I've just sewn up the Sew House 7 Skyline Tee, which has a v-neck option (its a jersey pattern). It had really good instructions for sewing the neckband on - would recommend.
