Scissors for me . I inherited my grandmothers orange handled fiskars when I was a teenager and have used fiskars ever since. I love them. I have a 25cm one for cutting orders and a 21cm that I use for dressmaking .I have tried using a rotary cutter...

I prefer scissors for dressmaking, but I use a rotary cutter for patchwork/quilting. I find my cutting is more accurate with scissors.

That is why all of my trousers are 'jeans' cut, so I have the yoke to help with the fitting.

I use scissors for dressmaking but I do use a rotary cutter for quilting or bag making. Despite years of using a rotary cutter I still find cutting curves or intricate bits a bit awkward. I have a large cutting mat but it is still too small for a lot...

When I originally went in search of good fitting trousers I ended up doing 8 toiles but the end result is so worth it - my back crotch curve bears no resemblance to any printed pattern but it fits me and I successfully transfer that curve to each new...

Another idea to stop the zip shifting is to use 1/4" quilters tape. That is sticky both sides so you can place your zip and rearrange so it is correct. The tape washes out.

Scissors. Mostly because my rotary cutting mat is much smaller than my cutting table. I'd have to most and readjust a lot to use it. When I do redo the cutting table I may cover it with a rotary cutting mat.

The front is perfect but I couldn't get the back to fit well so I just kept unpicking and re cutting the back and sewing them back together. I think ive got a really good fit now so ive cut them out in the denim, fingers crossed 🤞

I use a twin needle on my tee shirts, I use heat and bond soft stretch to turn the hem up, its an iron on interfacing and works a treat and also gives the hem a bit of body for the twin needle to give a nice neat finish

Laura, the WBM builder tee is more fitted but I don't like my tee shirts too fitted so I just straightened the waist off slightly. Apart from that I just went with my body measurements on all three

I always toile unless it is a pattern I've made before as I have a lot of fit adjustments to make. Most knit toiles end up wearable but not always the woven ones.
