I found this pattern worked well for me, with these adjustments: I used the apple front and pear back (yes, I'm a dumpling!) and I had to adjust the yoke a lot, but once I got it right, it made all the difference.

Yes, she's similar to mine. This is what I did, although of course, it doesn't help with trousers / thighs; or biceps. I suggest you sacrifice a bar and a pair of knickers that fit you well, and aren't too old and stretchy. Put them on your model....

No tips really. I just sewed it up as normal and had no problems. The armholes have since stretched out a bit but not so much that it bothers me. I must admit it was the colour that attracted me rather than the fabric!!
