These are the Trigg Shorts by Elbe Textiles for my husband. The fabric is Ankara (African Wax) cotton from Adaku Parker‘s Dovetailed.com The real thing. No Polyester.

If I have scraps from expensive cotton fabric, for exemple Tana Lawn from Liberty Fabrics, I use it to decorate back pockets on jeans, instead of decorative stiching. I have also folded it around the hem of trousers or jeans to "reinforce" the edge....

I would stick with cotton jersey for your first time sewing with jersey. Rayon/viscose is lovely but can be like wrestling an octopus! Pound Fabrics might be a good place to look

I only use mine when I need to hem because it has a hemmer attachment which is really handy for those hems that drop on the bias. She lives on the landing with my coat on it most of the days, rarely use it for fitting

2nd draft Adjusted the spikes and like these much better. I tried stuffing the wings a little bit but don’t like the effect of that. So I will Be going with the wings as per the green dragon with a bit more interfacing and the spikes on the blue one.
