This is a second pair of The Assembly Line Men’s Pull on Trousers. It’s essentially a wide leg, elasticated pants cut for men. TAL also do a women’s cut version. Made in a Olive Green cotton 97% elastane 3% from 1st For Fabrics, he loves them 😀

This is beautiful. For fabric like this, I agree that a tunic style top or kimono style jacket would showcase it. Given the design, I'd head for a kimono style jacket with contrasting bands. Please keep us posted!

I think my general rule of thumb is 'light fabric when possible', I used a linen for my summer cloak and it made it fairly reasonable for beating the sun and keeping cool :)

A useful fabric for your cloak might be fleece. You can buy quite thin versions fairly cheaply, and it doesn't need hemming (I made a Paddington duffel coat very quickly using this)
