I have made the Jamie Jeans by Named which were the first pair of jeans I made. I loved the front pocket construction. They were a skinny style with a seam up the front. Then I made a few pairs of the Closet Core Ginger Jeans and they have had lots...

Well, of course I sewed 8 pairs of knit pj bottoms from size 4 to 2xl, if it never see flamingo fabric again, it will be too soon, lol My gave my friend her "elevated leisure outfit" and it fit like a glove and she loved it!! I was very nervous, but...

It was a great experience for me. Meeting her clients and listening to the discussions and their thoughts on the clothes/costumes they wanted. I loved learning about the machines at the store and even love ironing the fabrics 🤯and still do! When...

I actually made both of the piece... I think because I learned to sew when patterns were vintage 🤣 I was able to wing it where the patterns were lacking. I feel this experience has made me want to understand pattern making and construction better.

I've only made one pair of jeans, the Megan Nielsen Ash Jeans, which are in a stretch denim. They are a bit snug, but they are supposed to have negative ease. I think I would just take less seam allowance next time, rather than going up a size, as...

Here are some more progress photos. The interfaced pieces are now all prepared and cut out and some assembly has been taking place - albeit slowly, as I am trying to film the process as I go for my YT channel. Front panel assembled and back vent...

That would definitely be interesting - I think they would have to go through things with a fine toothed comb to check for mistakes - which to start with until things get better could mean more work.

It can be really hard to tell if a pattern is made with AI or not but there does seem to be a lot of them on Etsy - did you try making the pattern up at all? I agree there are lots of postive uses for it, and sewing businesses can make good use of...

I also use AI at work and I know it requires supervision.  So I'm surprised to see people use it to do something they don't have any experience in. I suspect the Etsy patterns made by AI are created by people who don't make patterns.  The sites I've...

Hello all. My name is Melissa Haught and I have been unpicking seams for 40+ years. My Memaw (my mom's Mom) was a seamstress by trade and I grew up sewing pockets closed,  picking up threads and spending every Friday of the summer in the fabric and...

12 tote bags (one already gifted) all finished! Not only did I used up loads of leftover fabrics from previous fabrics, I also emptied 5 bobbins of previously wound thread and each bag has a label selected for each recipient!

Mine are the Just My Luck jeans by Izzie (formerly Forest & Thread). I have 3 pairs and denim for 2 more. I love a barrel leg and also their measurements are mine to within 1cm so no alterations needed. Susie

What are everyones favourite jeans patterns? I've sewn one pair of actual jeans (not including the Helen's Closet Falconer Pants) which weren't a huge success.  So I'd love to know if you have sewn jeans before which ones have worked well for you?

Yes, that was the toile in the check fabric I showed at the social. The main fabric on this one is 100% wool from Fabworks. It was a special offer with the lining free. Better image of the main fabric.

Yes, once I started I just kept going and now I somehow have 5! Fabric is cotton jersey and I went for the regular rather than the high waist option. I could probably go a size smaller, but they are comfy as they are. Here's a photo:
