And the lining... all I need now is the shoulder pads to pop in and then I can attach the lining to the main coat and do the button holes. 😊

Sleeves are now on, I had initial sewn them on the wrong way wrong so unpicked and put them on the right way. Sleeve caps are in place so I just need to sew in the shoulder pads which are in the post. And then the lining.

All done apart from the strap, which I will do shortly. Would I make another? I am not sure about that. At the moment, I am saying 'no'. But maybe after I have left it a while, I may change my mind. I  am happy with it though

I think it is fine as is and the colour is good for you.  I've seen patterns where a very full sleeve is balanced by a long tight cuff (eg Itch to Stitch's Busan top), but that might not work with a more standard sleeve.

Hi Hayley - mainly pacing myself and not spending too many hours sewing! I've checked the height of my chair and raised my foot pedal. I'm still having treatment on my shoulder which helps and I try to do the exercises I've been given. I'm sewing...

I promised Hayley I would post this blouse, which became known as the 'six year blouse' as that is how long it took to complete. The photo of me wearing it is awful so it has to be this one on the mannequin. The story: In about 2013 I wanted to...

I'll see if I can find a photo of the blouse. But I will post some other recent makes too. My previous coverstitch was a Janome and many people complained about it, but it wasn't too bad once you learnt its little tricks! I love the Babylock one,...

Yes would love to see your six-year blouse! I've had my Janome overlocker for years, it does the job but I'd love to see the difference with other machines!

The white shirt was a challenge from our quilting group, theme "leaves"; shirt made from a tablecloth.  The blue jacket was made from a thrifted quilt from Goodwill for $6.99. A Know Me pattern. The last pictures are of 3 tablecloths I thrifted...

My next upcycle materials.  3 tablecloths thrifted from the local small town of Napoleon, Michigan for a total of $10.  The block printed one is very large.

Here is my finished jacket made from a thrifted quilt from Goodwill for $6.99.  I used a Know Me pattern. It is navy blue and I used bias tape to bind the seams.

Thank you Hayley. I actually loved my Brother overlocker (4234D), but it was giving me grief following a service and kept seizing up. I was contemplating a new machine and just happened to go into a fabric shop, just to buy some thread, and they are...

I love my Billy dresses from TATB with thick tights, actually find that combination warmer than trousers where the chilly wind always manages to make my legs cold.

Yes I think the wide legs might be a bit too.... airy for the colder months! The Pinyon pants look like a good shout. I've been hearing lots about the Ann Tilley Magic Pants pattern - they look great!

Thanks Haley. I got the fabric from a destash some time ago I'm afraid. I forgot to say, I added an inch to the leg as I am 5ft 6 and the pattern is drafted for 5ft 5. My toile was with the orignal length leg but kept catching on the top of my...

These look so great Laura! The shape looks really nice, I like the slightly slimmed down shape of the legs and the fabric works really well - where did you get it from? Laura I never would have noticed the grass!!!
