I've had similar problems with a cable knit. In the end I overlocked the inner neckband edge in a single layer then stitched in the ditch without folding over the seam allowance to reduce the thickness. Pleased with the outcome, eventually!

I don't have specific goals, but I will continue to fill the gaps in my wardrobe. I've made a few pairs of jeans, but want to try a new pattern, so I've got the Ames pattern. I have a good stash of fabric, which I'd like to use up.

I can definitely recommend a wide leg pull on trouser - I often find bagging around my tummy but the Chanterelle pants from Sew Liberated are the perfect fit! They are quite wide but you could definitely reduce that width!
